Author Vikki Lawrence grew up an avid reader, from romance to non-fiction, fantasy fiction, horror, thrillers, and all kinds of genres in between. She has taken a leap by writing about an unusual group of vampires in the first short story, FATHER, in “The Vampire Diner” series. This Family doesn’t take blood by mouth to neck. They have embraced the technological advances in medicine.
Jovan
and his wife, Ivana own a diner in Denver, a front for the Family’s search for
suitable donors to their dinners. Customers are scanned based on the food they
order (and eat) and their general health. Jovan, as the head of the diner, make
all decisions, and does all of the Takings.
From a
review on Amazon.com
“I like the way the author has
imagined how vampires may have evolved. In this story, they do not operate
exactly the same as a century ago. Clever and unpredictable, with a feeling of
suspense throughout. This is not a comedy, although there is occasional humor.”
This 7-story
series will capture the stories of Jovan and his Family, their problems, their
victims, and the tribulations of being vampires in a modern society.
